For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
During the just-ended Christmas celebrations, twenty-four (24) FHI missions team members extended a heart of joy in sharing the Gospel with the people living in the Haatso Slums in Accra. It was the annual Love outreach to the needy dubbed, Let’s Break Bread but with the uniqueness of house-to-house evangelism visitation to these forgotten people in slums.
Interestingly, the cluster of people gathered at the slums were migrants from the Northern region of Ghana and our neighbouring country, Togo and yet the majority of the people could understand and speak an Akan Language, Twi.
Notwithstanding, It was exciting to see the Master of the Ceremony thrill the audience with different languages of greetings when we gathered after the evangelism for the Christmas banquet. It was a Christmas feast of food, drinks, and gifts to children and adults.
The gathering witnessed an estimate of about seventy (70) adults and over eighty children (80) who had the privilege to hear the Gospel that God loves them and gave Jesus as a gift to save them. Everyone gathered said the prayer of salvation but three (3) made a bold decision to receive Jesus as their saviour and Lord during the house-to-house evangelism. To God be the Glory, one person received the gift of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The amazing thing is that this year’s LBB was organized in partnership with Christline Christian Missions Church at Haatso and the partnership aims to help our new convert find a local church to fellowship and grow in the Lord.
Thanks be to God for a successful outreach and God richly bless all who supported in diverse ways.
